Y'know, now I've joined [livejournal.com profile] writing_shadows I have even less excuse for not writing my Talks-With-City Awakening fiction I've had in my head for some time now...
nadriel: (star wars silly)
I have nothing else to say than: Emperor Palpatine Award (For being Devious and Underhanded or something similar- I forget the exact wording :P)

So, after some discussion and a few mild hijinks, or Garou pack settled on Quicksilver Fox as our totem. Now all we had to do to convince him to be our totem was do something in London that he'd find impressive.

So we're looking at style, cunning, and so on, and eventually we pulled off the following:

Went and got some special monopoly money printed off with a foxes head on it.

Got it dedicated to our Ragabash alpha [livejournal.com profile] dainul.

Found a poker game that was being run as a scam (it was rigged), managed to get one of the pack into the game.

While he was playing, the rest of the pack were in the Umbra. The Ragabash disabled the cameras by means of disabling the relevant spirits. At which point, the two Ahrouns (myself and [livejournal.com profile] pmp) drop out of the Umbra behind the guy guarding the safe and knock him out.

The Ragabash then follows through, uses sneaky Ragabash tricks to get the safe open, and swaps out the cash from the poker game (still going on) with the foxopoly money. We then peg it out, using a couple of gifts to ensure we get away clean.

The remaining pack member then proceeds to win the rigged game, despite it being rigged, whereupon the switch is discovered, and he is apologised to, and walks away with a promise of his winnings once the thieves are caught.

We then donate the money to a fund for rebuilding Camden (in the game world, it got hit by a freak sandstorm that devastated it. *twitches slgihtly as another character*).

And walk away with a new totem, and a small degree of smugness (as well as some apprehension, as we have some thoughts about the identities of those we robbed).

But hey, it was fun, and it was really nice of all the people involved who STed and NPCed to take the afternoon out to help us enact the abridged version of Ocean's 11, Garou-style :-)

Being currently a sick puppy, I lack the energy and well-being to get out to the College Arms tonight to check and see if it's going to be useable, or whether I'll have to go with one of the backup plans for this Saturday's Awakening game.

Would someone possibly be able to politely check with Paul and let me know? If it wasn't urgent, I'd leave him more time to get settled before bothering him, but I need to put announcements out on the lists.
nadriel: (That's how I roll (Richard))
I had this random thought a while back, whilst in a sillier than normal mood, and came up with a film list for my Sluagh spy/assassin/loremaster (the dream of the evil mastermind of the sort who could and would do his own dirty work).

So, without further ado, I present Nachtherr's top films:

What Dreams May Come (And Kill You)

Scream (But Quietly Please)

Nightmare on Your Street

I Know What You Did Last Summer. And Last Winter, Last Month, Yesterday, and This Morning.

Requiem For A Dream Who Poked His Nose In Somewhere He Shouldn't Have.

Off to the Camarilla National shortly. Back Sunday evening. Unlikely to have comp access till then. Have a nice weekend, y'hear?

Anyone doing owt in London that I could be involved in? Preferably cheap/free?

ION, had fun time at ZG today. Very enojyable Garou game (and somwhat stunned Garou character). Still the sanest as my Malk in Cam.

And some git stitched up my Amenti. Time to call in a few favours...
nadriel: (Default)
Well, that was entertaining. Forsaken was very Benny Hill-esque, as we tried to get a lust spirit out of my pack alpha whilst going clubbing. Dances-With-Code is now working on the principle of "let us never speak of this again".

Southwark Requiem was fun- a fair chunk of the game was taken up with a poker game for trivial boons, which I managed to win. Gaining me 7 trivial boons and a roleplay xp for my behaviour in it. (Hint: Avoid playing poker with someone who regards it as an interesting psychological experiment. Especially if they don't state what the experiment is...).

And now, on to Zietgeist for fun, frolics, and hopefully not death for my Undying...:-)

Something else I remember from yesterday's post-Mithras diablerie scene....

My Ductus: *takes out stake and looks questioningly at me*
Me: *nods*
Ductus: *tries to stake me. Stake shatters*
Me: That was unexpected.
Ductus: *gets out second stake. Tries to stake. Stake shatters*
Packmate: *hands ductus another stake*
Ductus: *tries to stake. Stake shatters*
Me: Well, this is embarassing...

Mithras Jack...

Well, I managed to survive a game- convinced the Cammies I was Mithras, and the Sabbat I wasn't. So I'm gloating over the whole, "Tricked the Cammies and got a good diablerie in", in character.

Out of character, I can't help feeling that there's this little clock ticking in the background. The reoccuring totem spirit trying to rip my soul out on a regular basis isn't helping my piece of mind either...

But hey, at least for a brief time, I got to play with cool and funky levels of Fortitude (you know, the sort of level where a flaming incendiary building full of napalm with a large store of sharp aerodynamic metal objects falling on you and exploding is pretty much an annoyance...). So hey, I'm happy. And I have my next character concept ready...:-)
nadriel: (That's how I roll (Richard))
Took my Sabbat character out to a scene with his pack. We were supposed to prevent a severely weakened Mithras being diablerised, and simply destroy him.

Unfortunately, Mithras, for various reasons wanted to be diablerised. And what Mithras wants, he gets.

Good news: I diablerised Mithras, and showed that devious and sneaky wins over the direct brute force approach, even if you have loads of kewl powers.

Bad news: I diablerised Mithras. So there's a very real chance of me becoming him. Here's hoping my loads (and rising) of willpower, and Luck merit can help.

Just a brief run-down of what's going on with me...

Yesterday I went to see the Radio 4 recording of the first 2 episodes of Series 6 of Old Harry's Game, with [livejournal.com profile] killtest, [livejournal.com profile] matgb, [livejournal.com profile] davegodfrey and a few other non-LJ types. Twas very funny, and the replacement for the Professor is excellent. If I get time, I'll try and do a more detailed post about it.

Anyway, tonight I'm off to meet up at the Marlborough Head with a friend I made after the Goth n'Rock Speed Dating thing I went on a while back.

Tomorrow is currently empty, so I may pop over to the parent's for my fix of NCIS, missed Dr Who episodes and chinese food.

Friday, I have [livejournal.com profile] matgb as kitchen slave, cooking omlettes for myself and [livejournal.com profile] faeriecween. Of course, I'm buying the ingredients, so that seems fair.

Then, at the weekend, is Zeitgeist LARP- including Mummy (c'mon those who don't show often, the more Amenti the better!), Sabbat (wherin I am taking part in dark and evil plans. As usual), Mage (where hopefully my new Akashic (and possible apprentice) will be showing up (Must remember to talk some more to [livejournal.com profile] wildrogue before the game about background links)), and finally the Biers game, whereupon my Amenti will no doubt once again discover strange and wonderful things. And get interrogated by [livejournal.com profile] reindeerflotila's Etherite again.

Then next week, [livejournal.com profile] ginasketch comes to visit for a couple of days. Don't expect see or here from me on Monday evening. We will both, however, be at the OHG recording on the Tuesday evening at the Drill Hall.

Memo to self: When the evil undead wizard you play is providing information to a bunch of fanatical goodly types, and you copy and paste this info from your downtime return prose, do remember to edit out the internal commentary regarding "those goodly fools" in future.

I recently rediscovered an old mp3- a song called Dragon Road which will amuse anyone who's played D&D. And probably a fair few other people as well. I thought I'd share the lyrics.

Incidentally, if anyone knows who it's by, I'd love to know...

Superheroes

Hmm, I have the sudden urge to play a superhero. This has nothing to do with recent watching of the Incredibles and certain new TV series'.

Any tabletop groups with slots running something (must be viable for me to get to in London), or anyone want to start?

I know a few super systems- I'm quite partial to Aberrant. Well, the rules set, anyway, if not the background.
nadriel: (Default)
Hmm, been looking at my finances, and thinking about the fact that I need to book accomodation soon.

And I don't think I can afford it- or the transport, really. Which leaves me with the choice of risking ending up like the end of this month or worse, or cancelling my booking for the Regional.

Gah.

Will think about it today.
nadriel: (Default)
Gotta save money until payday next Wednesday, as, well, I have virtually none.

So it's computer games and downtimes for me, probably.

Don't forget, among other Zeitgeist things, this Saturday afternoon is Mummy!

Now back to re-imaging a few entire computer rooms...SysAdmin, away!
nadriel: (Default)
Can anyone provide a translation of Name Eater (Or Eater of Names) in some old language- Latin, Greek, something similar. Whichever sounds the coolest....
nadriel: (Default)
Well, this was the major Zeitgeist LARP weekend of the month, with four games. Possibly Of Doom. I enjoyed myself immensely, even if my Amenti character is having a near-permanent stress headache at the moment :P.

To spare the uninterested... )
nadriel: (Default)
I went to hang out, eat and roleplay with [livejournal.com profile] thessalian, [livejournal.com profile] dodgyhoodoo and [livejournal.com profile] weaselbitch for the first time in ages. It was great! There was roleplay, banter, and then, food and Firefly (and more banter). Also, rats!

I'd been meaning to get round to watching Firefly for ages. Now I wish I hadn't waited so long. Fortunately, I've kindly been lent the DVDs. And I have tomorrow free.
