Well, this was the major Zeitgeist LARP weekend of the month, with four games. Possibly Of Doom. I enjoyed myself immensely, even if my Amenti character is having a near-permanent stress headache at the moment :P.

To start with, our Sabbat pack learned that Obtenebration is really hard in combat. Unfortunately, we weren't the ones using it. Thus it could be said (and in fact was, later on) that we got our arses handed to us by a bunch of neonates and an ex-Sabbat traitor. Ooops. Still, we all survived, and we've got some tactics to deal with that sort of thing in future.

Then Saturday continued with the Mummy's and Werewolves going after a Bane Mummy.

It ran something like this:

MUMMYS: Be careful, this is one of our most potent enemies...
WEREWOLVES: *rip, rend, shred, destroy* Sorry, didn't catch that, what did you say?
MUMMYS: Never mind. Oh, look out, the other one is here too- we're not prepared to face two.
WEREWOLVES: *rip, rend, tear, shred, destroy* You really need to speak up, we keep on missing what you say.
MY MUMMY: *sighs, shrugs* Um, drinks are on me?
WEREWOLVES: Cool.
ASSORTED EVIL MINIONS: Hey! What about us?
WEREWOLVES AND MUMMYS: *Ker-destroy* Pardon?

Then, in the evening was the Sabbat game proper. I had the most fun I've had playing any Sabbat character in ages (I'm playing a Ravnos antitribu. And the Week of Nightmares is happening). Of course, my Ravnos is now safely in torpor somewhere, so I might actually survive said week of nightmares.

Sunday saw more headaches for my Mummy. First up, someone running a Most Haunted-esque show at the site of Beldam hospital, in an effort to prove the supernatural existed. And, whilst it really was a very supernatural area, the most amusing thing had to be the fact that the major concentration of the supernatural was actually in the investigative team...as far as I can gather, the investigative team consisted of a mummy, two vampires (plus vampire cat wandering around), and the head of the Unseelie fae court. Between attempts to fake supernatural things, and actual supernatural things going on, it was a highly entertaining nightmare for many involved. Unfortunately, it finished up with one of those nasty moral dilemma things for my Mummy. Heal dying man supernaturally, and probably be caught on camera, or watch him die. So, not actually really a dilemma then.

Then there was a break, where we had the Mage game. And whilst a lot was going on, for once my Etherite wasn't particulalry involved in it, so for me it was relatively quiet.

The finally there was the game in Biers- where many random things happened that made my Mummy's head hurt again. On the other hand, a semi-independent khaibit just shopped a few members of the Sabbat to me, so that's all good fun.

It must be said, having now seen what happens as soon as Derek Acorah announces he is doing a show* I am increasingly unconvinced that he could possibly have been thrown off Most Haunted for faking evidence of the supernatural in the ZG world. I mean, why would he need to?

It must have been an earlier Masquerade/Veil/Rule of Shade cover up!

*It goes something like this:

Derek Acorah: I shall be looking for evidence of the supernatual in a slightly shifty and dodgy manner in a random site

Every Supernatual In The Area: Wow! We gotta be a part of this! We'll give you LOADS of evidence!

Don't be daft, no one bothers with the Rule of Shade these days..

Rule of Shade? I always thought it was more of a guideline.

In all honesty, whilst I had four people involved (2pc, 2npc), it largely went along the lines of:

Akenheru - he turns up. He's a cat. He does a few little things to try to make it less good a show and keeps an eye with intent to prevent anything *really* dumb going on air. For some reason Derek Acorah decides that the cat is supernatural, and strokes it a bit.

Peter Crown - team technocracy sends supplies. Special supplies. There is nothing to see here.

Stewart Tall - backs the show. Hopes to ensure proof of supernatural goings-on, being, well, a hunter-type-conspiracy-theorist. Strange that.

Max Schreier - well, it went like this. He got asked to do a guest appearance on a tv show. His agent signed him up, for the stupid amount of cash they offered. Max found out what the show was. His boyfriend fired the agent. Max turns up due to contract. Considers suicide as a preferable alternative, but knows his boyfriend would just find some way to resurrect him.
