Amusing

A recently-encountered friend came up with a line that I felt needed to be immortalised here...

In response to my comment that I was in an odd mood, they responded;

"From what I can tell, you wouldn't know an ordinary mood if it ran up to you and offered you an ice-cream".

Many thanks, I shall cherish that comment for a long time...

Stay in that corner where I can keep an eye on you, fruit-cake.

Okay. Um, this room is circular. Where do I sit?

Also, I'm having trouble with Euclidean geometry at the moment....

Where are you, a bloody lighthouse? And Euclid was highly overrated, if you want my opinion.

And three dimensions are so boring. Sorry, I got the words "circular" and "rectangular" confused. But since I called the room circular, it therefore has no corners that I can sit in. Regardless of the consensual reality to the contrary.

I'm really a lot less insane in real life. Honest. Or at least it's less obvious....

I paint lighthouses for a living. Yeah, it's true. I do the red stripe and my mate over there does white stripe. Yeah. OK, I'll be leaving now.

I like red. And black. And purple. And dark blue.
Erm.

You never learn, do you? Apart from being amazingly feeble, it sounds like you're offering a menage a trois which, depending on who you try the line on, could be good or bad.

I won't be trying that line again anyway, that's for sure. Was pretty funny at the time, but achieved nil.

What's wrong with being ordinary and sane? I've just got signed off work for another two weeks and all I want for Christmas is my marbles back! Even though I'm not sad to be off work.

I'm not insane. I just see things differently to most people.

Oh that's alright then :) But, how do other people see "things"?

Generally, I find that other people don't see the world around them. Or at least, not very much of it. They waste so much of their potential.

What do you suffer from, if you don't mind me asking?

Nothing too dramatic, just a form of depression and panic disorder that's proving very resistant to treatment at the moment. It runs in the family but it'll probably sort itself out in the end.

There seems to be a lot of that on LJ.

What kind of treatment do you get? Drugs? Therapy?

Drugs just now. Lj does indeed seem to be a haven for miserable bastards; then again, maybe it actually makes people miserable too. To be honest, there seems to be a lot of it about everywhere; as soon as you say "I've got depression" 10 other people spring up and go "Oh so have I/My Brother had it" etc. Unlike genital warts.

There's a couple of positive people on here. [livejournal.com profile] willow_zzen always cheers me up. She seems to balance everything out quite well. Plus I'm always a shining beacon of cheeriness! ;)

Good to know. Not that there's anything wrong with miserable bastards.

I try to cheer up. But always seem to backslide after a while. But in my current mood, I'm not down, so maybe I can go for odd instead of cheerful....
