I appear to have somehow been talked into becoming the social secretary for the under-30's at the company I work for.

Still, on the plus side, it gives me an excuse to walk around and talk to people...

And I've managed to get some people to provisionally agree to try Synthetic Culture one month...

I was asked to be Santa last week for the departments Secret Santa lunch. The costume, the beard, the laugh, the whole thing.

I think that social secretary-thing machtes you very well. After all you are very social and nice and can talk to people :) So I would regard that as a compliment...

What worries me is that it's for under 30's only. What do they think happens, you hit 30 and suddenly you have no life and no friends? Do they throw people out of the 'club' on their 30th birthday. It sounds bit "Logan's Run" to me.

There is some flexibility (there damn well better be, since they put me in charge). I think the main point is they want social events without their elders breathing down their necks.
