I was looking out of the window, as I often do when travelling home, and as I went, I looked at the people who were walking by.

So much diversity, so many differences of appearane. And that is just what is on the outside. Each of them is an individual, with their own ideals, thoughts and way of doing things.

So, why do people try to put themselves into molds, make themselves like everyone else. What is it in society that tries to suppress the individual in favour of the faceless conglomerate. Some of it stems from the herd/pack mentality that our ancestors possessed, but still, I thought one of the points of being civilised (aside from rendering Darwinism far less effective with regards our species, unfortunately), was to get away from our primitive forebearers.

Yet, reflected in today's modern age are all the ages past. The customs may change, the modes of dress and speech, yet, under it all, nothing is different.

I realise this is something of a rambling post, but I have a point at the back of my mind I'm trying to reach for, but it eludes me currently. I'm writing this down in the hope that, at some later date, I might be able to work out what the point was. In the meantime, feel free to add comments- it might kick-start my brain a little...
