Well, I've had confirmation- my parents will be kicked out of their house in the next few months- April at the latest, as my father is having to take early retirement on medical grounds., and the house comes with the job.
Ask me again why I'm not enamoured of organised religions. I mean, I'm sure they'll provide some help (actually, I'm not sure, but I have to believe, else I'll get really angry), but still, on the pitiful salary a vicar gets, how exactly is he supposed to put enough aside to be able to get a new house at this point in time?
Merry Fucking Christmas.

Okay, I am getting heartily sick and tired of something. I've noticed an increasing trend towards people using Christians as the example of ignorance and stupidity when sounding off about things.
For every vocal and loud intolerant, bigoted, right-wing Christian, there are loads of perfectly nice people who happen to hold to a particular belief system.
INTOLERANCE AND BIGOTRY ARE NOT A FUNCTION OF CHRISTIANITY, OKAY?
I've met intolerant, stupid and bigoted atheists, wiccans, pagans, muslims, sikhs, and many others. It's not even a function of organised religion, much as I dislike the concept of organised religion. People can be stupid and intolerant, regardless of race, colour or creed.
Have I made myself clear enough?
Good.
Please note that this is not directed at anyone in particular, it's just after reading yet another thread on the subject on one of the webboards I frequent, I felt the need to vent.
