I'm utterly terrified about what they're going to do to Changeling. Requiem was disappointing, but I could handle that, because I was never a hardcore V:tM fan. Forsaken was mostly disappointing, but I could handle that, because W:tA wasn't really my cup of tea.
Awakening pissed me off beyond all belief. Mage was my second favourite old World of Darkness game, and they dumbed it down. Changeling is, without a doubt, my favourite roleplaying game, and I fear that the nWoD version is going to be just as painfully disappointing as all the other conversions.
"If I see another twitchy-nosed, tricksy-but-cute pooka, on the other hand... Flamethrowers."
Changeling, like pretty much every old WoD game, was a difficult balancing act. You could easily run a game which was dark, spiteful and nasty. My only complaint about Changeling is that people tend to have a very firm idea of which side of the game, and dismiss the other side of the game as being completely irrelevant. Sometimes, it's fun to play a happy-go-lucky Pooka who's surrounded by evil bastards. In fact, it's more fun to play a happy-go-lucky Pooka when you're surrounded by evil bastards, because it provides a little bit of contrast.
Anyway, rant over, yadda-yadda-yadda, damn you White Wolf.
