I heard a while back about the possibility of a Labyrinth sequel. Has anyone heard anything more about it?

It's Dark Crystal that has a sequel coming out.
Labyrinth's sequel will be a manga by Tokyopop, in which Toby returns to the realm of the Gobin King.

There's also a bunch of out of print Brian Froud books being re-released.

The labyrinth sequel was not so much a fake, but rather the construct of 'Chinese Whispers'
An english student at some university had drafted up a basic plot overview (a good few pages worth including some scenes in detail) and cast list, and was required to produce concept artwork for a project. Naturally as soon as this found it's way to the internet it became distorted, misquoted, rehosted, and repeated etc ad infinitum.
Soon enough there was a huge clamour about a Labyrinth sequel, unfortunately all founded on the online equivant of 'hot air'.

i went to see mirrormask the other day, it's made by the jim henson company and it has been described by amateur critics as a labyrinth sequel. it isn't, but the story is kind of similar. worth a look, good story, visually fantastic.

hope there is a genuine labyrinth sequel. if there is it should be aimed at the age group of the people who watched the original ... i.e. mid to late 20s, and made ... darker ... =)
