Further Crimes Against Music
Jan. 26th, 2005 10:13 amLast night's show was on the theme of "Love Songs", and was suitably hilarious. It's a pity so many of the adlibs and asides will never be aired.
Highlights:
I should be going to the other 4 shows as well, with a little luck.
For those who want to hear the show, the first one airs on BBC Radio 4 on Thursday 22nd March at 6.30, and it carries on every week after that for another 5 weeks.
And all my foreign readers have no excuses either for not listening to it, as it'll be available on the BBC Radio website for a week after airing.
Highlights:
- Proving the point that love songs are sung with such faux emotion to cover the lack of actual content, he sang a page chosen at random by the audience from the Usbourne Children's Encyclopedia in the style of a love song.
- Sang a really good pisstake goth love song "All These Ghoulish Things Remind Me Of You", in the style of the sisters of Mercy. When asked afterwards if he was worried about Andrew eldritch having a go, his response was, "Nah, I can break him like a twig".
- Mitch has revealed that he's running out of styles to satirise, so he's considering nu-metal next. I suggested black metal, but he said his throat would get too sore from all the growling.
