Quiet weekend

Not much happened this weekend. mapp came over on Friday and left on Sunday lunchtime. In between, we chatted, watched films, played games, and he convinced me to start plating World of Warcraft when it comes out (well, okay he didn't convince me, he just let me play it for a bit, and I convinced myself).

Sunday saw a pretty climactic Mage game with the usual suspects, and it was nice to know that Kuo Li getting pissed off qualifies as a notable event...writeup to follow at some point over at kuo_li

Now back to coding...and caffeine.

Random thoughts

What is it about Console RPG end themes? Is there some sort of formula that the game makers have to adhere to? They all seem to sound like they're accompanying a dramatic montage of the hero posing at the top of a cliff, and they all have extensive guitar sections in the middle, that are probably also played by someone posing on the top of a cliff.

Excuse me, having listened to a few of them this mroning, I feel the need to go and pose on top of a cliff....

Synthetic Culture this Friday

Just to remind people that it's Synthetic Culture this Friday, which I shall, as always, be attending. I once again have a very limited amount of crash space available to out-of-towners....

Memo to self: In future, try to avoid having anything to do with bug fixes on the forecasting software. That stuff is EVIL.

More thoughts

I think I'm going to go teetotal for a few months. It's been a while since I last did it, and it's a great way to cut back expenditures...

Edit: Yeah, I'm going to do it for a period of one month from today, then, in a months time, I'll see if I want to continue for another month or not.
