So, I made it through another year.
May. 11th, 2004 08:55 amYep, I'm now 25. This is considered a good thing in many circles...
Got my first prezzie already- The Last Samurai on DVD. Which was not too much of a surprise, given that I'd informed my family that this was top of the list of things to buy. Given that I normally can't think of anything I want, they took the hint admirably.
Last night, I went to see My Ruin at the Cavern. The support band, Ruins of Jericho, were unfortunately characterised more by their enthusiasm than any actual musical ability. Actually, that's a little harsh- they could certainly play fast enough, and the female lead managed an impressively growly series of vocals. Still, I prefer a little more melody in my music.
My Ruin itself was quite good, as usual. I fought my way to the front through the legions of teenagers. Mainly just to prove I still could. Then after a few songs I got bored of it (and being kicked in the head by a crowd surfer who'd decided to ignore Tairrie B's request for no surfing didn't help), and went to sit down and continue chatting with
dainul,
draxar and
iamseph.
Tonight, I have plans for a quiet drink at a local pub with a few friends, which should be nice.
