On departure

Whilst I think I'll end up throwing a going-away party (assuming I can find somewhere to hold it), there is the increasing temptation to just, well, go. Not throw a party, not make a big fuss, just vanish into the night. The idea has a lot of appeal to one side of me. Unfortunately, the party idea has an equal appeal to the other side of me.
