Weekend update
Feb. 23rd, 2004 11:14 amWell, that was a fun weekend...
On Saturday, I headed up to Nottingham for The Wake, where I was kindly met (and given somewhere to crash), by
thefounder. After a very mediocre pasta dish at one of the local pubs, we visited the Pit and Pendulum. Which was full of, among other things, lots of ickle kiddie-goth wannabe's. Reminded me of one of the clubs here in Exeter, actually. They made me feel old though, so I didn't hang around.
After that, we headed to the Wake, which was, once again, absolutely brilliant. Even better, I won one of the random prizes you have a chance of winning when you pay to get in. So I am now the proud owner of a t-shirt (which is skinny fit on me, heh), with some very nice Rachel Huntingdon artwork. (Yes, Tara, I will wear it sometime. Now stop lurking and make your own Livejournal. It's cheating otherwise :-) ). The music was mostly unknown to me, which was great, as I managed to pick up some more band names to seek out. The outfits were, as ever wonderful and varied. I'm starting to recognise people now, but there's still a lot of people I haven't randomly bimbled up to yet, so still time to spread thepain joy of encountering me.
I have therefore decided that I will be organising a trip for those of the Exeter goth population who want to come up (and those who don't want to, but aren't able to stop me dragging them). This will probably involve a fairly cheap hotel, which I have the details for.
The trip back on Sunday went okay, despite me almost missing my connecting train in Birmingham New Street, due to Central Trains being crap.
Then there was GameSoc at the uni, where I created my BESM character, hehe...
And then there was retiring home to enjoy some more levelling on FF X-2. Okay, at some point, I'll actually start doing missions (aside from the initial ones you have to do). But for now, I'm levelling and getting as many of the abilities unlocked as I can. I've played far too many FF games, I fear.
