My weekend.

Friday Night: Spent most of the evening running between various Libdem Councillor's houses, fixing various computer issues. I swear, I don't know how they managed before I took the Computer Officer post- in fact, I'd be very interested in knowing what they did before they started making me run all over the place...

Got back too late to go to the student party, so I decided to watch Versus instead.

Versus review )

Saturday: Got some random stuff sorted out in the morning and afternoon, including picking up my copy of Gehenna. Which was quite disappointing, frankly. Rather than saying "this is the way the world ends", they instead gave 4 different possible options, and intersperced each with lots of comments like "but you can do it differently if you want". Newsflash: I know I can do it differently if I want. I want the canon end of the WoD for vampires so that I can decide how I want my WoD to end. I don't need them to get all wishy-washy on me. Anyway.
Also picked up a copy of Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Which is really fun. Kain is still a complete bastard, and great fun to play as. And Raziel isn't much nicer.
The evening was quite fun- went to Zoe's birthday party, which involved food, alchohol and heading down to the Bunker. Caught up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while, met some new people, and fun was generally had by all.

Sunday: Played more Defiance. Then headed to GameSoc, where I started playing in a Ratkin game. As a Mokole (The ST's idea, not mine- I'd never played either, so it was much of a muchness to me).

Boring roleplay stuff here )

Following on from the post I linked to about the new magazine coming out, I direct you to the following new LJ (the initial blurb is worth reading, just for its occasional amusing digressions)...

Well, it's the Wake in two weeks, and I need to know if I have to book a hotel or not. So, without further ado, can anyone who reads this and is going to the Wake, and wouldn't mind putting me up over Saturday night, let me know please. Usual offers of drinks, etc as thanks apply.

Just got hold of a copy of the original version of Behind Blue Eyes (by the Who). It's very good, but I still like the LB version slightly more, which surprises me.

Well, I think our D&D group is about to step up to the next level of geekiness. This Wednesday evening, we will all be logging on to the 3 Towns Neverwinter Nights server (Neverwinter Nights being, of course, the computer version of 3rd Ed D&D). Once there, we will be meeting our characters up and then...playing a game of D&D. Whilst sitting in the middle of this server....

I think this deserves some sort of award...
