Crap
Well, that's just crushed my good mood from the last few days.
Just finally heard back from the company that I interviewed with. I didn't get the position- apparently, despite being "the most technically gifted candidate" and "having one of the best personalities of all the candidates", I wasn't what they were looking for.
Well, shit.

Oh, and I think we're cancelling tonight's 7th Sea session. I'm getting some mixed messages from Jon and Maria. Will let you know as soon as I do -- keep an eye on your e-mail.

Sure you can figure out the stuff you don't do, and well, you'd be working with the new girl from Ultraviolence so it's got to be worth it, right?

Based both on my own experiences and what I've seen of others', I just don't see how anyone can actually manage to get a permanent job. And when they do pick people for jobs, they always seem to be the most obviously unsuitable, useless munters around.
I can only account for it through the Dilbert theory: incompetent managers seeking to keep the talent pool below/around them shallow.
Sorry for the rant - but I think I know how you feel.
