Glasgow and training (but not together)

So, had a great time in Glasgow- on the Friday met up with [livejournal.com profile] brindy once I got into Glasgow, and we headed back to his (and I met [livejournal.com profile] volantra), before heading back out. We went to some rock pub whose name I forget, whereupon I encountered [livejournal.com profile] sk8rgrrl, [livejournal.com profile] molkosmissus, [livejournal.com profile] minivempxxx (who has decided that I am now John, not Mike), and Susan (she of the anonymous commenting).

We later went to see Sepultura and In Flames, which was fun too.

On the Saturday, some wandering around town was done, before I split off to catch up with an old friend, Tamsyn, for a few hours. In the evening, we all went off to Bedlam (after I managed to suggest some Charlie's Angels posing from the ladies in our group). Bedlam was fun, met up with [livejournal.com profile] vodkafrenzy, pootled around, and then headed back home when everyone got bored.

Flew back on the Sunday, and, for the little in joke from the weekend...word to my gothic gangsta pirate homies....Yarr!

Anyway, the training so far is easy, as this week is the introductory course, and everyone already knows what they're doing. I also may end up with some free time in the evenings after all, during the revision periods before the exams and between the courses...

All in all, things going quite well so far.

Glad things are going well :-)

I haven't been to Bedlam in years - is it still going well? Used to be one of the biggest goth nights in Glasgow...really must go back for a visit sometime...

Hope the training continues to go well too :-)

Bugger! I was in Bedlam! Did you see a red-haired ponytailed guy wandering about?

Um, probably, but it was, y'know, quite dark and stuff.

Hearken unto the voice of reason!

Don't take the easiness of the introductory part of the course for granted and switch off. It can fuck you up royally to assume you know it all, then when you need to build on that later in the course, you're buggered.

Wot he said. Done that too many times, the intro stuff is too easy, you get bored, then realise that you've switched off and now the ones that were challenged by the intro are ahead of you. Which is embarrassing.

Oh yeah, um, yarr me hearties?
