So far, so good

First interview over, and it seemed to go well- very informal, but thorough. Should be hearing back about a second interview in the next 2-3 weeks (that is to say, the interview should be in the next 2-3 weeks.

Looks like a good place, although there would be a couple of issues if I got the job.

Pros: £23-25k starting salary, plus transport (which is relevant, as you'll see in the cons)- for reference, my last job had me on 22-23k
Very informal environment- permanent dress-down day in the "office" (or rather, converted shop)
Close by, at least half the time.
Role is part programming, part project management, and would allow me to start working on .Net, which would give me some more saleable skills.

Cons: Half the time I'd be in Luton at this other company that they have a contract with- not literally 6 months each, but more 3 days one place, 2 the other sort of thing.
Second interview with IT director of other company present to get through first.
Won't be starting till August 1st, so money still an issue till then.

Sounds promising then... and Luton isn't that far away. Once you knew the route it would be easy enough I would think??

The money is pretty bloody good!! And a permanent dress down code is also cool...

So, of course it goes without saying that I wish you all the very hugest amounts of luck in the second interview, but it is a shame that the start date is still so far off. Never mind, hopefully the housing benefit will come through now??

for Luton, change at Wimbledon. assuming you're still roughly where you were.

So far it looks like the pros outweigh the cons, so good luck with it.
Hopefully see you at the Ben Crouch tonight :)
