Old landlady: As long as rent was paid, you could be dying of lung cancer for all she cared.

New landlady: Upon hearing I'd lost my job, made sure that I'd tell her if she could help at all, offered to get some jobs papers in for me, etc.

Did I mention I much prefer where I live now?

That's a relatively minor quibble overall.

That's good that she seems to be more friendly and helpful than your previous. However, she is also probably just making sure that you can afford to keep up the rent!! (or maybe I'm just being grouchy & uncharitable!!) :0)
