Absolutely ridiculous

US wants ban on protests during Bush visit

I would say "Who the hell do they think they are?". But I already know the answer, which runs along the lines of "We are the good ol' US of A, and can do no wrong. Yee haw."

It's a pity, really, because I know a lot of decent, intelligent Americans who, unfortunately, do not seem to populate the higher levels of the administration in the US...

So, apologies to my American readers- this isn't an attack on you, just the stupidities of some of the people in power over there. That said, I'm not exactly enamoured of the people in power over here, either...

Gah.

The more I hear about the antics of the Shrub, the more distressing it all gets. When we arrive at a situation where I find myself agreeing with *Ken Livingstone*, of all people, it suggests something is seriously wrong.

I heard about this and thought, "greeeaaaat....as if they dont' give us enough shit for being a 'renegade colony'."

I applaud you for realizing that it is the government, and not its people, that are acting like a bunch of wankers. The people in my sphere of influence can't stand him at all.

There will be a reckoning next year, and it's not going to be pretty for the shrub.

The problem is that the poor and liberal tend to be non-voters, whereas the rich and conservative tend to vote compulsively. I urge you to protest anyway. We do.
